Open Call: Disvisible – Maladies Beyond Sight

[Open Call]: Disvisible: Maladies Beyond Sight

We are seeking short fiction pieces (no more than 10k words) that focus on the theme of characters that possess disabilities or differing perspectives that are not readily seen or recognized. Each story should feature a protagonist or vital character that have such a characteristic (a neurological disorder, an altered state of perception, or some other biological or mental atypical characteristic) and should be portrayed in a non-derogatory fashion. Central conflict may or may not involve the character’s differences but should be a focus in the story. Stereotypical portrayals are to be avoided for this anthology.

Genre is open. This will be for an anthology that will be put forth in both print-on-demand and electronic format. Compensation will be based on a percentage of total sales and distributed evenly among writers, artists, editors and the publisher. The final percentage will be determined at the closing of the call. The close date will be December 31st.
